I Moved My Desk & Got To Work

Have you ever just been a place where nothing really is working, but you cannot put your finger on what it is?  I can say in my work life that is happening some. I found that I was having a hard time trying to create, stay focused, and put out quality work without taking forever to do so. I decided to move my desk ad got to work. Yup, that is what worked.

II moved my desk & got to workt was very simple. If you are in a situation that is just not working, you have to change where you are. I am not a genius, but I know far too many times I have allowed myself to stay stuck and just feel out of it for far too long. It really took me five minutes to pick up my desk, place it in the front bedroom, and get a view of the sunshine, trees, and airborne soldiers.  I could seriously watch Airborne School all day, and it provides a nice break every so often to regroup and clear my mind.

Have you found yourself drifting in your day-to-day as a stay-at-home  entrepreneur or just a mom who is at home with a laundry list of things to do for you and your household?  It is never a bad idea to write down what you want to or need to accomplish for the day. Regardless if it is in a planner, on a piece of paper, on your phone – just do it! it will allow you to see what your day looks like. This can help allow you to maybe push an errand to another day, or do an additional item, or enjoy some time with your family and friends.

I like to make a couple lists – things to do with dates they have to be done by and I place this at the beginning of my planner for the month that I am in. Then as I plan out my days I can place things as needed on the schedule. I try not overthink this. It is a planner yes, but it can be done with a pencil so that I don’t  have a heart attack when things don’t go right. I do tend to do this. Thankfully they also make stickers you can place on things that say canceled or rescheduled. They make your schedule changes pretty.

Funny Friday #1 2016

I realized that I was missing something lately. You know what it was? Blogging! I like to write and challenge myself in writing creatively, but mainly so it doesn’t clog my brain! I really do enjoy writing, but after so long it seems like I couldn’t come up with anything to really spark my creativity. I decided to do some searching. One way I found was to join a challenge in order to get some creativity going again. Naturally, I found a group on FB and I joined. This group provides monthly challenges and I am now par-taking my first one called “Funny Friday!”

Today’s post is called Funny Friday, a regular post that is done on the last Friday of every month with this group. It is collaborative too! Each month someone provides a picture and all of us have to write 5 captions or thoughts inspired by that picture.

Here goes nothing – my first funny friday!

“I didn’t do it
.” ( My oldest would definitely say this one)

“You won’t believe what you can find under all of this!”

“There was a dog and a cat, but they are gone now.”

I found myself self saying “If you back out slowly and shut the door maybe it will fix itself.”

“Um. What, happened?” is another parental response I might have with a look of disbelief.

You can see what my blogging challenge friends said in their own words about the same image by clicking below on their names! I hope you will take some time to see what they said and show them some love. I know I will be grabbing a cup of coffee and doing it myself!

Today I am cleaning up from a weekend of family, friends, and fun. We enjoyed a non-traditional meal of a crab-boil over the fire, eaten on a newspaper covered table outside. It was fantastic. I enjoyed the weekend minus the sister leaving part. That part always stinks.

Today I will be going out. Last night we watch Daddy’s Home and The Night Before. Both movies had chuckle moments – but not nearly as good as I was hoping. The Night Before was kind of strange in some parts as they were trying to do a whole “Scrooge” type of night without making the three parts (Christmas past, present, and future) obvious. Strange to say the least. Today I will be taking them back to RedBox.daddy's home move, movie night, moviethe last night movie, movie night

Today I will do my normal cleaning of the bathrooms plus an additional vacuum. Our house needs it. Badly.

Today I will do laundry.

Today I will wash our puppy who has some skin issues and needs some extra love and attention.

Today I will relax and not do a whole lot.

Today I will drink coffee and enjoy it completely.

coffee, molly, miss molly
