Green&Glam Hair Products Review

I was so lucky to receive some shampoo and conditioner from the green&glam line at Organic Beauty Now.

Let me tell you – I was impressed from the start as the packaging is awesome. They are sent in shredded paper instead of the plastic that gets anywhere and is dangerous for the environment.

I was impressed that we were sent full size product and was so excited to even use it on my children’s hair. They have the worst problem with product making their hair really greasy and weighing it down – or it will make it very brittle and break due to being so dry.  I have tried so many products on their hair and I was more than willing to try something that was better for them as the ingredients aren’t toxic!

From their website:

green&glam is a top-quality collection of natural hair and skin care that does not sacrifice performance for the sake of being 100% natural. All products are formulated with certified organic ingredients and sustainably sourced essential oils. The team at green&glam are a passionate group driven to create natural beauty products that rival the performance of even the biggest names in beauty while keeping the world, and its inhabitant, beautiful and pure.

I was immediately impressed as my oldest child – Abby had immediate great results. Her hair wasn’t weighed down and didn’t look greasy – and it didn’t turn out over dry and brittle. This is great because her hair normally does one or the other immediately. I think because there aren’t any special scents in it her hair didn’t come out dry which is the most common result she has.

abby hair I had to use a little extra conditioner on her hair but that didn’t surprise me due to it being to dry. The second and third time we washed her hair with it we didn’t have to use as much and that is great so the product will last a long time!

Ryley who tends to have the greasy looking hair after conditioners didn’t have that at all! She had a beautiful shine and her hair looked more full and allowed me to style her hair with ease!

ryley hairNow for my hair I was worried as I have really thick hair. I noticed a difference in the wash as it didn’t seem to lather like a regular shampoo, but I also didn’t feel the left over residue I normally do. This is a plus! I also found that using the conditioner from tip to root like it recommends makes the amount you use less. It also made my hair shiny again and restored it to a more healthy look.  I love that I didn’t have to go get a hair cut to reduce the amount of split ends.

my hairThis was by far a superior product! I do think it is a little pricey – bur for the results that I got – I believe it is well worth it for both me and my children!

Getting My Green On with The Home Depot – Part 2 #DigIn

Oh Home Depot - How I love that you make it so easy for me to be getting my green on!

From the moment I walked in the door you had exactly what I was looking for!

fertilizerThey must have known I had called and looked online and everything was pointing towards Scott’s Turf Builder!

It was like a sign walking into the store. They funny thing is that when we were at this display contemplating how many bags we needed for our lawn based on size, a Home Depot employee came up and saw that we had children that were getting restless (already) and asked if there was anything she could do to help us get what we needed so that we could get home. She is a saint in my eyes for recognizing that need.

She also was extremely helpful in getting us to the exact spot in the outside area of the store that had very specific items for our Alaska grass. She pointed us in the direction of what most likely was what we needed and then let us make the final decision from there since we knew out lawn best.

These were the products we settled on:

productArctic Gro Alaskan Lawn Mix – it was one of the only choices for a natural habitat – everything else they had was more specifically for a lawn that had been laid by brining a truck in with top soil and specific soil for turf type lawns.  The Scotts Turf Builder will help with fertilizer needs that can be used anywhere.  The nifty little green hand spreader made it easier to watch the application of the seeds as opposed to the large lawn spreader that is utilized for larger areas.

This year we wanted to stay on top of maintaining our lawn by being proactive with the approach and then continual upkeep with weed killer as needed, and potential watering if lack of rain (which I don’t think will happen) and maybe some extra fertilizer since we do have a dog. I am actually excited to see the green grass and keep it as long as we can!

One of the other things that I notice when we had arrived at the store was that they actually market some of their classes specifically to ladies! They didn’t have any listed the day we went to the store – but just the fact that they know us ladies like to do things without the help of anyone else was refreshing. I will be back for those!
