Making In Happen!

So, I love it when I can post about making my goals for the week happen. I also love lists that I can check off – I am such a list person. Not a iPhone make a list and erase – but a pen and paper list person. I am sure some of you who know me are shaking your head in agreement right now.

I read to the girls last night – so that goal is batting 1,000!

Yesterday was a productive one for me and I was pleasantly surprised by this! I had to pick up Abby from school early as she has a temp of 103.3 – OH MY! Today we have a doctor appointment, lunch, and then my doctor appointment. Busy! She is my work buddy though – sometimes being a working mom sucks and today feels like that becuase I hate having to bring her in here. I also hate that I really don’t have a choice becuase I have to save as much vacation as I can for my maternity leave in April. Sometimes I just want to leave it all behind.  The working world that is. At the same time I need that personal achievement and ability to find success.

Christmas dinner is planned – at least my part – wahoo! Lets hope that I don’t catch any sickness and can actually cook as I want to this time, unlike Thanksgiving.

Christmas Eve Service at Anchroage Baptist Temple is at 7:00 pm – So excited!

I re-read the book Radical by David Platt. Fantastic book. His book is fantastic in the reality he delivers both from a personal and biblical aspect. At the end he calls on us all to do five things for one year. I started this a couple years ago and I know I didn’t finish the year out. This year I will.  Want to join me?

#1 – Pray for the Entire World – there are websites that give you countires and their specific pray needs.

#2 – Read Through the Entire Word – I am going to research a good reading plan.

#3 – Sacrifice Your Money for a Specific Purpose – this one I think know what I will sacrifice, but not sure on the cause just yet. Either Mercy Ministries or The Forsaken Children’s Home….maybe both.

#4 – Spend Your Time In Anoth Context – this is about a week a year and it is some sort of missions work.

#5 – Commit Your Life to a Multiplying Community – I need to find something within our church to devote to – maybe starting a small group will do it?? I think it sounds fantastic!

I would love it if any of you wanted to join with me and we can help and encourage one another!

I also decided yesterday that I will be signing up for the Mayor’s Half Marathon in June of 2013. I can’t wait. It will give me a goal and something that I have personally wanted to accomplish.  Plus those I work with have been encouraged to do it also and I was asked to help with the training plan!

I also will be joining some fellow virtual friends by joining in the challenge of running 13 races in 2013. I think I will settle on either the distance of 5K or 10K as that is the typical distances around the area….what about you? What do you want to accomplish next year?

I also feel that my compteitive side needs a boost again. Since I don’t show horses or compete gymnastics anymore and I need something other than running for this. I am going to go for competing in a CrossFit competition next year. I want to do it. I will.

Looking into becoming a judge next year for the gymnastics world. I want to do something along the lines of lower level gymnastics to encrouage those in the sport. My reasoning for waiting till next year is that the new code of points comes out and I want to just start fresh with everyone else.  No learning and testing to just re-learn and re-test.

Whew – I was busy, wasn’t I?  What about you – what are some things that you want to accomplish?  I think I might have re-evaluate some things on my 35X35 list and delete and add….this next year is going to be awesome – plain and simple!

What’s New Wednesday #20 – Virtual Races All Around!

Just wanted to stop in with a quick update to my blues of running. I am not really able to run right now due to being pregnant. I was told to take it easy on the running (like don’t push it – lots of alternating) as I am not a great runner by any means. I still struggle and have since this move up to the frozen tundra of Alaska. I just can’t get it together up here! I am resorting to treadmill walking and switching it up a bit to keep me attentive and actually working something.

To keep my boredom at bay – I am utilizing all the virtual races that are going on to keep me at this! I have already completed the virtual The Great Cupcake Race that was put on by Find Your Happy Place and Running In Sanity to help benefit TNT.  It was both 5K and 10K, but I of course opted to walk the 5K. I am now signed up for their Pumpkin themed race and have my kids also joining me on the  1 Mile portion. They will as well get a medal for doing it!!

Run With Jess has her cupcake race up and going and there is one more I am taking part in. My husband did tell me to find a hobby – so I did!

I hope you all will join me in these races (which I will post links to later), and let me know if you find some more!!

If I were to host one for a charity – who is in???
